Prof. Michael Stoll has been teaching and researching at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany) in the field of information design since 2005. From 2017 to 2020 within the framework of his research professorship "Strategic Visual Knowledge Transfer". Until 2005, he was an independent designer in Tübingen and worked for newspaper publishers and companies. He taught at the Haus Busch Journalism Center, the IFRA Newspaper Institute and the Bavarian Press Academy, among others.

In 2018, he founded the "Visual Discovery Conference" in cooperation with 4 European and 4 American universities, which is focusing on current questions of ecological, economic and social coexistence through lectures and internationally mixed workshop groups with infographic narratives. At the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Stoll accompanied research and development projects, among others for the Hospital of Augsburg, the City of Augsburg, the energy company LEW, the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Berlin Transport Authority and the LogiPics project for the development of a visual language in logistics.
