Dawn Zidonis

Executive Director

AIGA San Francisco

SF Design Week

As Executive Director of the San Francisco chapter of AIGA and San Francisco Design Week, Dawn is eager to help designers stake out their place in the entrepreneurial culture that defines the Bay Area. Her vision for the San Francisco chapter is to build on the passion people bring to the design community, create connections between members and business, foster the cross-pollination of ideas among design disciplines, and ultimately add valuable, meaningful content to the design conversation.

Dawn is the co-founder and current Vice President of World Design Weeks, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting international design weeks, sharing resources and content and fostering conversation between international design cities. Dawn is also vocal, visible problem solver with a long-standing commitment to AIGA as a former volunteer, chapter president and national board member. In addition to her past volunteer work at AIGA, Dawn has served as a mentor to young women and girls interested in pursuing a career in design and or technology. She has served on the board of director at The Center of Architecture and Design in San Francisco which produces Architecture and the City, a month long celebration of Architecture and Design in SF. She is also a member of ASAE, The Center of Association Leadership and CalSAE, the California Society of Association Executives.

A designer and entrepreneur who hails from the Midwest, Dawn brings more than 15 years of experience as a classically trained designer, design business owner, and entrepreneur to her role as Executive Director. Dawn calls herself “a total introvert” but no one who actually knows her believes it.
